About the role
We are looking for an experienced lead to support and manage our Rates Administration Team. Our main goal is to deliver consistent, superior customer service to Glen Eira’s ratepayers, ensuring data quality is maintained and met to Council’s standards, and ensuring the Rates Administration Team continue to perform to a high standard.Other responsibilities include:

  • To lead and manage the Rates Administration Team’s work priorities and provide staff assistance.
  • Developing and implementing policies, strategies, and systems to aid in the delivery of the team’s accuracy, efficiency, and budgeting of daily operations.
  • Producing and delivering Annual, Instalment, and Supplementary rates notices in accordance with Victorian Local Government Acts and Regulations.

About you
You will bring your previous management skills, and extensive experience in similar positions to guide, motivate and lead. Your ability to effectively communicate ideas with clarity and precision will ensure success while guiding the Rates Administration Team to achieve outstanding results.The following is also required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in finance or related area and/or substantial experience in a similar role in a similar sized service organisation.
  • Knowledge of the Local Government Act and Regulations, and other legislation relating to the rating and valuation of properties for statutory purposes.
  • Leadership experience in leading and managing a small team.
  • Highly developed communication and analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive computer skills, particularly Microsoft suite of software.
