Access theThe Townsville Hospital and Health Service vision is world-class healthcare for northern Queensland.Our purpose is `great care every day’.About your opportunityRadiographer Sonographer AdvancedMedical Imaging are currently seeking applications for HP5 Advanced Sonographer position within the medical imaging department, Townsville University Hospital (Level 6 tertiary referral hospital with 755 beds). We are looking for an experienced Sonographer to deliver specialist-level clinical ultrasound, high level communication skills that can provide professional leadership within a vibrant, supportive, multi-disciplinary team environment.You will be a part of a busy and thriving team of sonographers closely supported by both radiology consultants and registrars, as well as the nursing and clinical assistants, as a part of our daily operations.The ultrasound department consists of 5 general rooms, a vascular room as well as outreach services to Ingham & Palm Island. The varied workload includes general, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatric including neonatal ICU and emergency ultrasound, operating 7days/week, providing afterhours on-call support to patient care. The current range of equipment includes GE Voluson, Philips Epiq and Canon Aplio.We offer rewarding career opportunities across a range of clinical and non-clinical areas including:

• Furthering your skills in advanced vascular ultrasound learning directly from our highly skilled vascular sonographers and surgeons.
• Furthering your skills in advanced paediatric ultrasound working alongside paediatric and neonatal specialists.
• Regular education meetings provided by the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) team including MFM specialists, consultant sonographer and advanced MFM sonographers.
• Weekly departmental education sessions including interesting cases review.
• Access to multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
• Teaching and mentoring our student sonographers, radiology and obstetric registrars.
• With a close link to James Cook University and a part of the university precinct, the Townsville University Hospital is invested into research providing invaluable professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Accredited Australian Sonographer Accredited Register (ASAR), with recognised qualifications

• Post Graduate qualification in Ultrasound, or
• An appropriate Degree or Diploma in Sonography from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Medical Radiation Professional (AHPRA):
• If a Radiographer, the applicant must hold current registration with MRPBA (AHPRA), with recognised tertiary qualification in a Medical Radiation profession.

• Hold a current Queensland Radiation Use License
• Evidence of professional development activities.
• This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.

• Salary range of $140,767 to $146,883 p.a. (HP5)
• QH Sonographers Development Allowance $8,894 p.a
• Annual leave with 17.5% loading
• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
