Further appointments for similar roles may be made from this recruitment process as and when opportunities arise in the next 12 months.About the ERAThe ERA is the independent economic regulator of electricity, gas, water and rail in Western Australia. We strive to make sure current and future consumers pay no more than necessary for safe and reliable utilities.The Regulation division administers licensing schemes for the electricity, gas and water industries and reviews and makes decisions on access to regulated monopoly infrastructure in the electricity, gas and rail industries.To find out more about the Economic Regulation Authority please visit our websiteAbout the roleThe primary responsibility of the Electricity Access team is the regulation of Western Power’s network, particularly the periodic review of Western Power’s access arrangement.This position undertakes and manages complex and sensitive projects and prepares recommendations, determinations and decisions. You will assess proposals from network service providers such as Western Power and deliver findings and recommendations that will assist the ERA Governing Body to make decisions.You must be able to use and develop complex databases and financial models, including using data visualization techniques and tools, to analyse, monitor and explain service providers’ financial and operational performance.You will demonstrate a sound applied knowledge of the operations and economics of monopoly energy infrastructure and be able to apply your economic, financial and problem-solving skills and experience to deliver well-reasoned and robustly supported advice to the ERA Governing Body.You must be able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines, have a proactive attitude and work collaboratively as part of a small team.A full description of the role and organisational context is included in the attached Job Description Form.Employee benefitsIn addition to the great salary our employees enjoy an amazing range of benefits which may include (in line with operational requirements):
