Job description: Permanent Part Time – 22.8hrs per weekSalary: Band 6 – $90,571 to $99,983 pro rata + 11% superThe Preschool Field Officer (PSFO) is responsible for supporting early childhood teachers and educators to build their skills, knowledge, and confidence to plan for and include all children. The PSFO provides practical advice, and professional support to enhance kindergarten service capacity to provide for the access and participation of children with additional needs. As part of a multidisciplinary unit, the PSFO will work in a small team and engage with state-funded kindergarten services in Hobsons Bay.You are:– an Early Years Specialist with extensive knowledge of child development and differentiated learning and practice with the ability to transfer this knowledge to families and other professionals– registered or are eligible to be registered as a kindergarten teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching– experienced in various roles within the early years sector including kindergarten teaching– a current holder of a Victorian driver’s license (essential)You can:– Undertake observations of referred children within the kindergarten setting and provide strategies and resources– Develop partnerships and collaborate with a range of Early Years professionals– Effectively communicate in both written and verbal to a variety of audiences– Facilitate opportunities for kindergarten teachers and educators to undertake professional development and establish collegial relationships across the municipality– Mentor and coach kindergarten teachers and educators to provide high quality programs which promote inclusionThe position description can be accessed below.
