The appointed wage level will be dependent upon the successful candidate’s level of experience, skills and qualifications. * 9 day fortnight
- 72.5 hour fortnight
- Hybrid, flexible working environment, including work from home days.

About our opportunity
Our Project Management department delivers more than 550 capital and operational projects each year, worth approximately $130M in total. The team contracts 80% of the capital program via pro-active and innovative annual delivery processes. The delivery team manage projects through procurement and delivery, focused on time, cost, quality and safety objectives.
Projects are located across our region and include construction of footpaths, park, intersections, roads, sport fields, coastal assets, buildings and fit outs, with as one our most exciting projects.
We have 2 graduate Engineer opportunities, and you’ll be managing minor construction projects (up to $500K) and working on routine technical planning and investigation of projects, as well as:
Providing routine technical engineering advice and ensure engineering works are within current construction legislation, Australian standards, Workplace Health and Safety requirements and accepted work practices.
Managing the infrastructure design process including coordination and management of contractors
- Assessing and recommending and rejecting progressive payment certificate claims made by contractors
- Contributing to a positive team environment, continuous improvement and customer focused culture
- Engaging proactively with internal and external stakeholders including residents, Councilors, contractors and colleagues across Council.
About you
Our graduate Engineers get great support and exposure to a variety of assets and small to large projects across the City of Moreton Bay. You can bring your experience managing minor construction projects providing technical engineering advice, understanding of construction legislation, standards, Workplace Health and Safety requirements, and accepted work practices.
You’ll also have:
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia (required)
- Demonstrated knowledge and applied understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Sound time management skills to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
- Well-developed communication skills to communicate planning concepts and matters in a simple and concise manner
- Ability to contribute to fostering a healthy, inclusive and well-connected workplace
- Current C class driver’s licence (required)
- Construction Induction Card (required, or willing to obtain at own expense).
