Job description: SUMMARY//Manages youth program offerings in the SLC area gyms including, but not limited to, recreational and intermediate teams, after school programs, coaching, camps, and group events. Works with children, adults, and staff of all ages and abilities and provides great customer service for our members and customers.PRIMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS//
- Attends relevant team practices and local, regional, divisional, and national level Competitions as assigned by Head Coach and/or Director of Programs;
- Oversee, develop, and input curriculum for all youth programs into curriculum master file pages on SharePoint with assistance from Ogden Programs Manager, Head Coach, and Director of Programs;
- Manages and maintains the RGP calendar for all program offerings in SLC and SOMA;
- Maintains relevant SharePoint pages for youth programs;
- Responsible for drafting, developing, publishing, and auditing all relevant SOP’s for youth programs;
- Directs professional development of all youth program staff by providing monthly programs meetings, 1:1 check-ins with staff, coaching development clinics, and team building events as approved by Director of Programs;
- Participates in The Front’s biannual planning process through the Agile Methodology; is exceptionally proficient in using the Microsoft suite of software products as well as RGP and Azure Dev Ops;
- Initiates, plans, and executes projects to improve youth programs and fulfill The Front’s yearly OKRs;
- Attends all assigned overhead and planning meetings;
- Supervises and evaluates all ASP, Rec, Intermediate, and Summer Camp program instructors in accordance with the Dot System;
- Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating the SLC/SOMA programs spec;
- In charge of hiring and reviewing/evaluating in addition to onboarding/training all new youth programming instructors;
- Manages curriculum for Camp, ASP, Rec and Intermediate teams;
- Act as a recreation and intermediate team head coach and liaison for questions related to setting, training, schedule, etc.;
- In charge of all written communication sent out in bulk for ASP, Camps, and Rec, and Intermediate teams including newsletters, youth and parent athlete agreement, etc.
- Act as point person for After School Program, Camps, and Rec and Intermediate Teams including managing coaching staff schedule, following up with parent inquiries, and managing bookings;
- Oversee, write, and send monthly recreational and intermediate teams newsletters;
- Provide consistent written and verbal updates to all youth program staff;
- Perform regular belay audits for youth program coaches and participants as needed;
- Perform regular attendance audits of youth program participants as needed and follow up with parents as necessary;
- Maintain up-to-date contact lists for recreational and intermediate teams, including adding new members, finding member information, and organizing the team lists;
- Manage/field general inquiries sent to the programming inbox pertaining to youth programs;
- Responsible for coordinating and staffing birthday parties;
- Responsible for staffing birthday parties and group requests;
- Schedule and manage team tryout days including responding to inquiries, scheduling trial days and coaches, and following up with the participants, parents, and coaches;
- Ensure new team members are onboarded properly, including receiving team apparel and adding members to RGP;
- Ensure programming closet is organized, inventory is managed, and gear is ordered as needed;
- Oversee Youth Programming Specialist and staff members and assign relevant tasks;
- Travels to all relevant USAC sanctioned events with the team and acts as the point of contact for recreational and intermediate team parents and athletes at all events, providing clarity regarding scheduling, rules, and event structure;
- Conducts CWI trainings for youth instructors as a certified CWI Course Provider;
- Other tasks as needed or assigned.
REQUIREMENTS//
- Minimum of three years of climbing instruction experience;
- Minimum of two years climbing gym experience; specifically, with leading and planning various climbing programs;
- Minimum of 1 year experience with Rock Gym Pro;
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and OneNote;
- Ability to learn and utilize Azure Dev Ops in accordance with The Front’s planning process;
- USAC L2 Certification and/or SafeSport certified (required prior to start date);
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in climbing techniques;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in belay systems and uses;
- Ability to lead and instruct a group of people;
- Ability to work with children;
- Friendly, empathetic and encouraging;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Solid knowledge of the use, care and operation of climbing equipment;
- Ability to work nights and weekends;
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
- Customer service and/or sales experience preferred;
- Proficient in MS Office including Excel & Outlook;
- Strong verbal & written communication skills;
- First Aid/CPR Certified required;
- CWI certification required;

Expected salary: $18 – 21 per hour
