About The Role:

The Youth and Work Education team are seeking a proactive, collaborative and effective Work Education Teacher to train and assess Students within the Work Education, Transition Education and Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy courses at the Broadmeadows campus. You will need to be available at the commencement of term 1 and have the capacity to work with high needs students. The programs you will teach and assess are a critical part of Bendigo Kangan Institute’s offering as they provide a pathway into the workforce for students with mild intellectual disabilities. Accordingly, a Special Education teaching qualification would be beneficial in the role, although this is not essential.

We are excited about you because you have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or (TAE40110) including Design & Develop Assessment tools (TAEASS502 or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B) and address Adult language, literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A).
  • Relevant vocational qualifications
  • A Special Education qualification (desirable) or demonstrated experience teaching and assessing high needs students
  • A background of teaching Literacy and Numeracy
