Job description: Description and FunctionsOpen Until FilledGENERAL DESCRIPTION:The Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy, under the Attorney General’s Office, seeks qualified applicants for a Training Coordinator. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Advance Training Supervisor to devise, implement and manage specialized and continuing education courses which include campus, regional and distance learning delivery methods. This position will assist in scheduling and management of users at the facility as well as perform other duties as assigned.The State of Wyoming’s total compensation package is excellent and includes:

- Perform a variety of tasks identifying, developing, coordinating and reporting advanced training courses and offerings, including formal classroom assignments and practical exercises.
- Control and monitor student progress and activities, to include formal evaluations.
- Assist the training supervisor with specific training needs and meet with agency representatives to discuss training requirements.
- Write letters, contracts for services, training advertisements, and information program pamphlets.
- Preview audio-visual materials, read publications and attend training courses to enhance professional skills, knowledge and techniques.
- Assist in the development and marketing of online instructional courses, advertisements, and monthly video updates.
- Coordinate on-campus facility users, conduct post-use billing assessments, complete billing invoices and reset training areas for future use.
- Write evaluations on students, guest instructors, and course content based on observation of students, instructor performance, and written critiques.
- Oversight of students during class and after hours.
- Handle infractions by direct action or referral.
- Make budget-related recommendations and monitor program-related expenditures
- Responsible for the State and Agency inventory of supplies and equipment in specified areas.
- Maintain and direct the distribution and recovery of student training materials and inventory.
QualificationsPREFERENCES:Preference may be given to those with experience in designing and developing training curriculum and programs.
Preference may be given to those with experience in public speaking and public relations.
Preference may be given to those with prior government employment and/or training experience.KNOWLEDGE:
- Skill in applying evidence-based instructional methodologies, research, and development of training materials using contemporary student-centered philosophies.
- Skill in oral and written communications.
- Skill in training, lesson plans, and visual aid preparation.
- Skill in interpersonal communications
- Skill in organization, planning, and time management.
- Knowledge of Federal and Wyoming statutes applicable to law enforcement training methods, techniques, and practices.
- Knowledge of evidence-based methods of instruction in adult learning principles.
- Knowledge of the division’s mission, goals, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of the agency budget process.
- Knowledge as a subject matter expert in one or more law enforcement topics.
- Ability to effectively pass on the knowledge and skills which are required.
- Ability to perform consistently and effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work with students who have varying abilities and experiences.
- Ability to organize and manage time and resources.
- Ability to consistently and accurately evaluate program and personnel/students.
- Ability to drive and travel throughout the state.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Class C Wyoming driver’s license.
- Ability to work with common office technology, computers, and communications systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Education)Experience:0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Instructor II.OREducation & Experience Substitution:4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Instructor II.Necessary Special RequirementsPHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to drive and travel throughout the state
- Prolonged standing while teaching

- FLSA: Non-Exempt
- The agency requires that employees can obtain and maintain a Class C Wyoming driver’s license, as statewide travel is required.
