Job description: Cecil Andrews College is seeking to appoint a passionate and enthusiastic Design & Technologies Teacher to join our quality team. The successful applicant should be able to engage students in a range of contexts within the Design and Technologies Learning Area based on your knowledge and skills. You will ideally have a strong understanding of the requirements across the Learning Area to ensure our students can reach their full potential in all aspects of their learning process. Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum as well as the planning, delivery and assessment of Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) courses will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant should self-reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. Providing a safe, efficient and effective learning environment would be a key priority for this position. Cecil Andrews College provides exemplary education to children from Year 7 to Year 12. Located in Seville Grove, we do not have a prescribed local intake area so we welcome children from across the State to apply to enrol. Our state of the art STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Centre is just one of our impressive facilities that gives our students special access to state-of the-art learning technologies. It features new cutting edge laboratories, pristine preparation areas and an enviable lecture theatre. Our College runs successful AFL and Performing Arts Specialist Programs as well as our P-TECH (Pathways in Technology) Program. We have created a learning environment where students can feel comfortable and thrive.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
