Enterprise Systems in the Office of Information Technology is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Campus Web Solutions (CWS) development team. The successful candidate will create new web applications and maintain existing ones, contributing to the University’s mission through high-quality software solutions.Working onsite is a requirement of the job.The ideal candidate applies systems thinking, possesses superior interpersonal and communication skills, is self-motivated, and is a life-long learner.
Essential Functions1. Peer code reviews2. Ensure Quality Assurance standards3. Assist creating, publishing, and migrating applications4. Enforce SQL best practices5. Create .NET applications using C#6. Develop and integrate AI solutions to enhance application functionality and user experienceThe work is varied and challenging in character. Therefore, the successful candidate will need to be a self-starter and must possess and apply comprehensive IT knowledge, concepts, practices, and procedures, including hardware, software, networks as well as troubleshooting and documentation for the completion of complex assignments and projects.50% -.NET developer support: Create, publish, and migrate sites on the IIS environment. including documentation, code repository experience, and peer code reviews.30% – Client Interactions from weekly updates to the clients on their projects and hyper-care after delivery.10% – Reviewing statements of work to ensure enough detail is present for design.10% – New Technologies: Spend time exploring new and emerging technologies/trends in the market. For example, Azure and AI DevelopmentIn addition to having high-level technical skills, the successful candidate in this position should be articulate, self-motivated, communicative and a life-long learner.

Demonstration of technical ability will be required.The Systems Engineer (CWS) position is posted at two levels.Associate Systems Engineer (MA45):
- High school diploma and 8 years of relevant experience OR
- Associate’s degree and 4 years of experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 0 years of experience.
Systems Engineer (MA46):
- High school diploma and 11 years of relevant experience OR
- Associate’s degree and 7 years of experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience.
Minimum Skills, License, and CertificationsMinimum Skills and Abilities
- Strength in soft skills (e.g., teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability)
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing such as the capability to convey technology to a non-technical person
- Programming languages: including, but not limited to C#, JavaScript
- Web technologies: HTML, CSS, XML, ASP.NET
- Familiarity with database technologies
- Ability to provide end-user technical support

Five years of experience in computer programming, and software development.
