Job description: DATE: April 18. 2025JOB TITLE: Systems Analyst/Sr. ProgrammerDEPARTMENT: Colleague Computing ServicesREPORTS TO: Director of Colleague Computing ServicesSCHEDULE: To be determined, Hybrid scheduleCOMPENSATION: Full-time, Exempt (Salaried) – $90,000-$120,000POSITION OVERVIEW:Under the supervision of the Director of Colleague Computing Services, the Systems Analyst/Sr Programmer will be responsible for providing support and expertise to the user community in the utilization of Ellucian Colleague, the college’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and its integrated systems. The position requires translating business requirements into technical specifications, designing and coding processes, and creating reports.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide expertise and support implementing, developing, and using Ellucian applications with a high level of focus on Colleague ERP, Self Service, Colleague API, and Ellucian tenant products: Ethos, Insights, Experience, etc.
- Provide expertise to end users to understand business processes and systems functionality to help end users become more efficient and effective in utilizing the ERP system and its integrated systems
- Providing technical assistance by responding to inquiries from users regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs or workflows
- Create interface solutions for the electronic transfer of data between ERP and external systems
- Perform ad-hoc data reports per departmental requests
- Evaluate, and adjust where appropriate, set up tables relative to the departments’ business practices
- Analyze end-user needs for custom programs and reports, gathering information on data requirements and features; develop functional design specifications and convert designs and specifications into Envision code, a reporting solution query, or an Insights report.
- Prepare departmental procedural documentation and maintain documentation of changes to programs and specifications.
- Provide users with high-quality process documentation, change management, and enhancements information.
- Coordinate with other programmers about program revisions; modify and maintain programs/reports written by others
- Ensure effective testing, implementation, and instructions to users involving new processes, system enhancements, and upgrades
- Conduct well-developed one-on-one and group user instructions
- Monitor, track, and report project risks, issues, milestones, and work completed
- Communicate to management progress on assigned projects and tasks
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or a combination of work experience and education
- Three (3) or more years of work-related experience.
- Experience developing and customizing programs using the Colleague Envision Toolkit/Colleague Studio is required
- Fluency in SQL is required
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in higher education environments
- Experience with Ellucian products: Self-Service, Colleague Web API, Ethos, and Insights preferred
- Knowledge of ASP.NET, JSON, or a similar web scripting language is preferred
- Experience developing web-based applications preferred
- Experience in an academic environment and knowledge of college student records, financial, human resources, and development processes preferred
- Experience in analyzing processes, determining optimal solutions, testing, and writing documentation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Schedule to be determined: A Hybrid schedule, depending on business needs, may require working onsite.
- Working hours may change according to departmental needs. Work hours may include after-hours, evenings, holidays, and weekend work
- While working remotely, you will be required to maintain the same hours of work as would be performed in the office; follow the department’s procedures in completing assigned job tasks; and be available during the employee’s working hours via the department-established communication methods (i.e. Google chat, Slack, phone, etc.)
- The position may require bending, lifting, carrying, or the use of a force equal to lifting up to 10 lbs
