Job description: The Accounting Technology Internship at Sharp offers hands-on experience in key financial functions while using technology to improve reporting and analysis. This rotational internship spans departments like Tax, Reporting & Consolidation, AR Credit, Finance, FP&A, and Facilities.As an intern, you’ll contribute to projects, develop technical and analytical skills, and learn how different financial functions operate within a company. You’ll also bridge Accounting/Finance and IT to optimize financial processes.ResponsibilitiesAs part of the rotational program, interns will be exposed to the following departmental functions:Tax
- Support tax provision schedule preparation and documentation.
- Assist in automating tax reporting processes.
Accounts Receivable (AR) Credit
- Analyze customer credit applications and assess risk factors.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and recommend actions.
- Participate in collections efforts to maintain cash flow.
Finance
- Assist with financial modeling and ad-hoc business analysis.
- Support cross-functional teams in strategic initiatives.
- Review and process journal entries for month-end close.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Contribute to annual budget development and quarterly forecasting.
- Perform variance analysis on actual vs. forecasted performance.
- Support the preparation of financial presentations for senior leadership.
Data Analysis & Financial Accounting
- Perform data cleaning, analysis, and visualization using tools like Tableau, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Excel.
- Utilize SAP ECC (FI module & ABAP) to support financial accounting processes.
- Conduct financial modeling and ad-hoc analyses to support business decisions.
AI & Process Automation
- Explore AI tools within Sharp to optimize Finance processes.
- Analyze historical performance data to model future trends.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for automating manual processes.
Facilities & Security Systems
- Troubleshoot security camera connectivity issues.
- Validate access to security systems and correct configuration issues.
- Maintain and validate a database of security camera information.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think broadly.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with SAP ECC (FI module & ABAP), Tableau, or AI-driven financial tools is a plus.

- Compensation: The hourly rate is $18/hr.
- Duration: The internship program spans approximately 10 weeks, running from June 2nd to August 15th, 2025.
- Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position, requiring interns to be in the office in Montvale, NJ, four days a week (Monday to Thursday), with Fridays designated for remote work at the manager’s discretion.
- Transportation: Since the office location in Montvale, NJ, is not accessible by public transportation, interns must have reliable transportation.
- Housing: We do not provide housing or a housing stipend for interns.
- Work Visa: Unfortunately, we do not offer work visa sponsorship for this role, including participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.
