Job description: Summary: We are looking for a Senior Application Developer, to build ASP.NET-based web and mobile applications for business partners in Austin, TX. You will play a key role in leading the delivery of intricate solution/systems, providing guidance to distributed development and testing teams, and assuming a primary role in software solution delivery.

Education and Experience:

  • 7-10 years of cumulative experience in software development.
  • At least 5 years of development experience in web-related technologies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of ASP.NET WebForms and/or ASP.NET MVC development.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preference for experience in the financial services industry.
  • Ability to work with offshore team members based in India

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Profound understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Proficient in designing and architecting software solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with UI frameworks like Angular and/or React.
  • Innate expertise in Visual Studio, C#, and ASP.NET.
  • Strong familiarity with SQL Server and Team Foundation Server.
  • Experience with Visual Studio Release Management is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and make decisions under pressure.
  • Capable of collaborating with geographically dispersed teams and stakeholders, including onshore and offshore teams.
  • Demonstrated independence, sound judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of multitasking in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

In addition, you must have full understanding of the SDLC including:
Driving Complex Solution Delivery:

  • Gathering all requirements and specifications.
  • Assess project scope, develop timelines, and evaluate risk, exploring mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and design Proof of Concept and/or prototypes.
  • Facilitate transparent communication and collaboration across distributed delivery teams.

Design and Development Phase Responsibilities:

  • Refine project plans and timelines in accordance with evolving requirements.
  • Architect and design solution/application modules.
  • Develop detailed implementation specifications.
  • Lead the creation of unit test specifications.
  • Participate in implementation specification and testcase reviews.

Release Phase Contributions:

  • Code software according to specifications.
  • Conduct unit and integration testing.
  • Engage in code review and peer evaluation.
  • Contribute to User Acceptance Meetings and planning.
  • Compile comprehensive operations guides, training materials, and document known release issues.
  • Provide insights for future enhancements or solution phase recommendations.

Deployment and Support:

  • Oversee deployment and provide post-deployment support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic application issues escalated from frontline support.
  • Identify and document opportunities for process improvement, including coding practices and architectural enhancements.
  • Maintain awareness of current and emerging technologies.

Expected salary: $65 – 70 per hour
