About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join the Civil Litigation Section of the Crown Solicitor’s Office.
The primary purpose of the Solicitor (LEC1 – LEC3), subject to varying degrees of supervision and direction, is to provide high quality legal advice and representation on matters of ordinary complexity to clients of the Crown Solicitor’s Office.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing quality legal advice and representation for government across a wide range of commercial and civil disputes and litigation, including common law child abuse claims.
About the Business
The Crown Solicitor’s Office, through the Attorney-General, provides legal services to government, Ministers, agencies and departments, including legal advice, representation before courts and tribunals, negotiating commercial contracts, drafting and production of legal documents, counsel for the conduct of summary prosecutions and Magistrates’ appeals, native title claim management, land conveyancing and investigation.

Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Admitted or eligible for admission as a practitioner of the Supreme Court of South Australia.
