They are versatile in how they can add value, demonstrating the ability to manage the completion of projects that involve databases, backend services, or the development of front-end applications. They should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of emerging technologies to support the development of new solutions. Software Engineers understand the full technology stack and underlying applications, services, and databases in order to ensure optimal performance.The Software Engineer Manufacturing position responsible for development of D365 at Costco’s Packaging Plants, as well as mentoring as a Subject Matter Expert in Dynamics for a team of existing software engineers. The role will expand to include proficiency and capability to support development and operations for Rockwell Plex (Manufacturing Execution and ERP), as well as custom reporting for all plants using Power BI and other tools.If you want to be a part of one of the worldwide BEST companies “to work for”, simply apply and let your career be reimagined.ROLE● Identifies high level requirements to support the definition and refinement of a robust testing strategy.● Supports the Product Owner with the identification and definition of enablers and work items to support the architectural runway of a given product and application.● Defines the non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, security, resiliency, etc.) which support the development of epics and user stories aligned to a value stream.● Identifies technical dependencies across several product / application teams to support the implementation of new or enhanced functionality.● Performs development, optimization, and automation activities to support the implementation of a product/application.● Increases proficiency and understanding of relational and non-relational databases, distributed application architectures, user interfaces and user experience, quality assurance, security concerns, and business value creation.● Drives engineering best practices to deliver higher quality and scalable solutions.● Provides the team with the development strategy, solution recommendations, and estimates for a given product/application.● Participates in scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospective, showcases/demos, stand-ups, backlog refinement, etc.).● Creates and executes unit tests which validate the code changes made to support the implementation of a user story.● Uses test driven development (TDD) practices to assist with the detection/recognition of software defects early in the development process.● Designs and delivers DevSecOps automation for app deployment and testing.● Uses APM/monitoring tools such as Dynatrace/Splunk and browser tools to perform request purepath/waterfall analysis to identify bottlenecks and suggest improvements.● Identifies deficiencies within a product/application’s code base and identifies opportunities to improve overall code quality.● Conducts peer code reviews for the software changes made by other engineers within a team.● Designs, develops, implements, automates, and ongoing optimization of the overall technical solution required to implement the Manufacturing applications.● Collaborates to ensure that proposed and existing system solution designs are aligned with best practices in security, compliance, high availability, quality, and interoperability.● Mentors other software engineers through pair programming and other team-oriented collaboration.● Increases proficiency of relational and non-relational databases; distributed, scalable, and highly available architectures that add business value to Costco’s manufacturing plants.● Writes clear, maintainable, modular, and testable code.● Assists in problem analysis and solutioning for the technical team.● Collaborates with the team in conducting design and code-reviews for team members.● Consults with Product Owners, Engineers, and System Analysts to refine and identify technical solutions.● Participates in scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospective, demos, stand-ups, refinement) operating within an Agile framework.● Participates in daily standup, team meetings, and demos in an Agile Model.● Collaborates with other areas, especially in the areas of system performance, database administration, configuration, testing/QA, and technical support.● Participates in the technical aspect of deployment planning and partners with others as necessary for the deployment of the solution to production.● Provides solution support and ongoing enhancement design and development.● Takes operational responsibility for solutions delivered by the team, including taking part in an on-call rotation.● Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, and implements ERP applications.● Executes against a backlog of User Stories and tasks on Azure DevOps.● Analyzes, designs, builds, and implements Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and X++ in a manufacturing environment.● Designs, builds, and maintains efficient, reusable, and reliable code.REQUIRED● Minimum 5 years’ experience with X++, C#, SQL, Visual Studio, and Git.● Certified Dynamics 365 F&O Developer (e.g. MB6-890, MB6-894, MB-500).● Extensive experience with Dynamics modules: Finance, Supply Chain, AP, AR., GL, FA, and SCM.● Experience developing integrations using LogicApps between Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and host systems (e.g.● SAP/iSeries).● Experience with customization, upgrade, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of Dynamics.● Utilize test driven development practices.● Experience in coding: C# .NET, Web protocols (OData, JSON), and Web architectures (REST).● Experience front end development: ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, AngularJS, Jquery.● Experience in database and BI: LINQ, Oracle Server, MS SQL Server, Crystal Reports, SSRS or similar BI platform.● Ability to be involved with technical resources in the delivery of a software solution.● Ability to design and articulate design decisions to team mates through workshop, pair programming, and other collaborative techniques.● Ability to work across the technology stack (front-end, business logic, and back-end with full integration from plant shop-floor to corporate reporting systems).● Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills.● Ability to work effectively and produce consistent results with a minimum of supervision.● Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail oriented.● Problem solver and execution-oriented team player.● Scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of the business, including nights and weekends, on-call support as scheduled, and travel up to 10-15% of the time.Recommended● Degree in computer science, engineering, or similar quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience.● Experience using LCS tooling to troubleshoot and address issues.
