This position is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The Senior Software Developer will be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and analysis to testing, deployment, and maintenance.

About Us

The Maricopa County Treasurer is responsible for collecting all real and personal property taxes for the nation’s 4th largest County with over 1,700 taxing districts that include state, County, incorporated cities and towns, schools, community colleges, and special districts. Financial Services is responsible for ensuring all amounts collected are distributed to the proper taxing district.

We Require

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or business administration.
  • Five or more years in an n-tier software development environment using .NET, ASP.NET, and COM Interop

We Also Value

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft .NET technologies and software development tools.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Framework 1.1 – 4.0, and to communicate well both verbally and in written form.

Job Contributions

  • Provides technical leadership to ensure successful completion of complex projects
  • Develops n-tier object-oriented software using best practices, and standards in a team environment
  • Responsible for technical design, coding, unit testing, peer reviews, providing time/cost estimates, and required documentation
  • Works independently to develop solutions for complex business and technical problems
  • Learns and understands business practices and processes to the extent needed to improve business problem-solving capabilities
  • Participates in some aspects of end-user consulting, systems analysis, general systems design, and detailed systems design
  • Mentors and trains less experienced staff members
  • Maintains awareness of state-of-the-art development methodologies and tools, programming and problem-solving techniques, and hardware systems
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

Must be able to work in a typical, indoor office environment. Must have manual dexterity of hands and body to operate office equipment. Must manage frequent interruptions, time pressures, high work volumes, multiple and complicated tasks, unscheduled tasks, team-oriented activities, prompt decision-making, and interaction with government officials and the public. Must constantly maintain concentration, accuracy, ethical behavior, and a professional demeanor.
