ROLE
We need an experienced Web Developer at the Naval Dosimetry Center (NDC). The NDC serves as the Navy’s ionizing radiation dosimetry center of excellence for radiation protection programs for the Navy and Marine Corps. The NDC provides leadership and expertise to ensure mission readiness through disease prevention and health promotion in support of the National Military Strategy. In this role, you will serve as the technical expert and coding project leader for the organization. You will focus on programming and coding dosimetry related applications for use in the NDC’s dosimetry operations and management. - Serves as the organization’s technical expert and coding project leader
- Acquire knowledge of coding languages related to web application development as necessary
- Writes and programs web-based applications using industry standard languages
- Create and manage database tables using SQL Server Management Studio
- Utilize T-SQL for data storage and retrieval
- Utilize graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for graphic creation
- Design secure platforms and follows Configuration Control Board (CCB) governance
- Analyze customer programming requirements
- Conduct interviews on-site and virtually
- Meet frequently with customers to coordinate work and resolve problems
- Develop timelines and milestones, coordinate resources, and ensure project quality
- Coordinate programming efforts with other team members and stakeholders
- Develop system packages with technical specifications, user guides, training materials, and acceptance tests
- Leads programming and coding teams by establishing project requirements, protocols, and schedules
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to junior personnel in programming techniques
- Maintain and develop web applications, including server-side scripting and client-side scripting
- Acts as a developer for SharePoint, maintaining existing applications and creating new solutions
- Utilize JavaScript, CSS, jQuery libraries, SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio, and SharePoint workflows
- Utilize SharePoint Power Automate flows, SharePoint framework (SPFx) web parts, and SharePoint Power Apps
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Possesses expert knowledge of systems design, operating systems, applications software, and data management
- Expert knowledge with C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework base library, OOP, and Source Code branching
- Familiarity with standard programming conventions and database concepts
- Understands the practices used by web-based programmers
- Can communicate detailed application design standards, processes, and methodologies to team members
- Can make independent decisions or provide recommendations to management for IT solutions

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with government approval
