About the role

The position will be responsible for the operational oversight of the Southern Family Violence and Justice programs including staff, budget, liaison and partnerships with departments, compliance, administration as well as supporting and overseeing the key southern Family Violence and Justice programs including case management, Men’s Family Violence group work and behaviour change programs, other women’s, men’s and children’s intervention and programs in relation to family violence, local and youth justice work, oversight of The Orange Door.

A key function is to ensure that these programs are coordinated and managed in a manner which provides the best possible platform for the delivery of effective, quality, and timely responses. The Senior Program Manager role includes achieving all funding targets, reporting and compliance requirements are fully met.

This role will provide leadership, direction, and support to VACCA staff employed within these programs. The role will extend to ensuring all OOHC staff are provided with appropriate supervision and training opportunities to enhance their capacity to provide quality OOHC services.

About You

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.
  • Demonstrated high level ability to lead and manage a multitude of programs in the family violence and justice spaces, with a focus on encouraging healing and resilience by strengthening relationships, the role of the family and importance of Community connections.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities including proven experience in successfully developing, managing and motivating a team within the sector.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of working within Aboriginal family violence and/or justice systems, with an understanding of cultural approaches to support, guide and respond to complex situations.
  • Qualifications in social work, community services or/and substantial experience in these fields

Requirements

  • You must have and continue to hold a full Victorian Driver’s Licence, a current employment Working With Children Check card and a clear National Police Check
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable)
