We are looking for a Senior Software Application Engineer who will be responsible for implementing unique solutions that support our business within a highly distributed .NET application infrastructure with a focus on micro front-end/services architecture. The position will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and support of assigned applications and application components within the Sales and Service Technology portfolio.In this role, you will:
- Interact with business stakeholders and technology counterparts across many areas within Schwab
- Work with agile team members
- Provide creative/innovative solutions in a highly dynamic environment
- Implement robust, fault-tolerant software that meets functional requirements and has 24x7x365 availability
- Provide expertise in web-based, distributed, and cloud-based computing application development
Qualified candidates MUST have demonstrated capabilities with Object Oriented design, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead other team members and interact with business partners to successfully interpret requirements and create effective solutions.What you haveRequired qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related degree and/or practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in Software Development using Object Oriented Programming using C++, C#, Java and front-end web development with Angular
- 3+ years of experience in building REST services ASP.NET Web API
- Strong knowledge of web architecture/design and web best practices
- Demonstrated strong ability to interpret requirements and design solutions to fit those requirements
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact successfully with business partners and technology teams
Preferred qualifications:
- Good understanding of latest Architecture and Development Standards and Guidelines
- Demonstrated knowledge of design patterns and when to apply them
- Experience providing guidance, direction, and feedback to other technical staff in order to meet agreed upon objectives
- Ability to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibility
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for composing and delivering technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various level of technical and non-technical
- Experience with branching/merging using code repositories (e.g. Bitbucket)
- Working knowledge or familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with financial industry
In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
Expected salary: $110100 – 150000 per year
