These positions are located at the Victoria Police Academy in Glen Waverley and will be based within People Development Command which is responsible for developing the skills, capabilities and confidence of our people to professionally lead policing activities within the community. This is achieved by delivering training and assessments for Police, Protective Services Officers and Police Custody Officers from their initial training phases through to deployment to their training stations. This is an exciting opportunity for the right educator to deliver into Foundation Training programs. You will require a high level of professionalism, adaptability and motivation to engage some of our newest members to the organisation. You will be required to deliver in various environments and liaise with various Centres of Learning within People Development Command. The educator will be required to plan, develop and deliver training sessions and assessments within Foundation Program Delivery and Foundation Coordination Unit. The police program is currently under review and this will be an excellent opportunity to be involved in the development and implementation of new methodology to train our newest recruits to Victoria Police.

Your duties will include:

  • Deliver into Foundation Training Programs
  • Conduct various assessment tasks set out within the Foundation Training Programs
  • Contribute to organisational projects and support any implementation
  • Contribute to departmental objectives and priorities
  • Collaborate with other Centres of Learning within People Development Command

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, working with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a team in a complex working environment
  • Ability to work under pressure to produce high quality outputs
  • Ability to plan and respond to late contingencies and time constraints
  • Well-developed computer and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Hold a Current TAE Certificate IV in Workplace training and Assessment or higher qualification or be able to successfully obtain qualification within the first 12 months of appointment.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Three (3) x full-time, ongoing positions, and one (1) x part-time (0.7) position available
  • These positions are located at Victorian Police Academy, 1 View Mount Rd, Glen Waverley.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
