Are you a driven and experienced Information Officer looking for a challenging role to broaden your horizons? Then look no further.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Information / data specialist to join our small team in this diverse and challenging role. This is not a run of the mill information / data analyst role. You will have the opportunity to use and develop a broad range of information / data skills and be an integral part of the project team.

Your role will be diverse and entail considerable interaction with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff in working through various stages of the project life cycle. The role will require you to develop strong working and collaborative relationships with all members of the project team/s to deliver the desired outcomes.

You will have access to subject matter experts to support you in your development journey and other opportunities to expand your practice in a supportive work environment.

About this role

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia’s leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care. It is home to WA’s only comprehensive cancer centre and is the principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.

What we are looking for

Essential Selection Criteria to address (see a full list in the JDF, attached above): * Considerable experience in performance monitoring; data analysis, evaluation, and presentation in a complex organisation within a health or similar industry.

  • Highly developed conceptual, analytic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, statistical analysis and business intelligence tools e.g. SQL, Tableau, Power BI, R programming.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated communication, consultation and negotiation skills including the ability to clearly and succinctly interpret data for others.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of quality and performance improvement principals.
  • Knowledge of case mix and an understanding of the impact of Activity Based Funding on the delivery of clinical services in a large hospital.

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector. To be eligible for a fixed term or casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.
