We care.About the roleNorthern NSW Local Health District has a vacancy for a Senior Health Clinician to join their Intellectual Disability team. Leading the development of appropriate clinical practice for patients/clients with intellectual disability and their carers and families, in any hospital or site in the LHD eg. community health or outpatient setting. Informing and guiding Local Health District (LHD) staff on the delivery of care for people with intellectual disability and their carers and families.If you have:

\
  • Tertiary qualifications and, where applicable, membership of the relevant association or registration with the relevant board, in one of the following disciplines: Social Work, Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapist, Nursing, Psychology. To be appointed to a specific discipline and grade/level, please refer to the Essential Requirements section for registration and qualification requirements
  • Skills, knowledge and ability in the management of people with intellectual disability and understanding of current best practice models
  • Capacity to provide clinical governance and team leadership, and experience in the provision of education to peers, clients and other service providers, including understanding of adult learning principles and experience in developing and delivering group based learning
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a multidisciplinary team, in collaboration with participants and stakeholders in regional and remote communities
