Explore our Product & Technology positions to see where you fit!About the Team:We are recruiting a Senior Software Engineer for the Time Off Team in the Time and Labor space. Time Off team owns multiple key jobs to be done by employees including submitting time off requests, approving time off requests, and management of time off balances with accruals.Time Off’s technical footprint covers a breadth of areas some examples are:

\
  • Main languages and frameworks are C#/.NET and React
  • Complex accruals engine in SQL that is being rewritten into C#
  • An API first strategy to deliver integrations and experiences outside of the Time Off domain
  • Backend asynchronous processing engine to provide scalable experiences for client

What you will do:

  • Product Engineer: Lead team members and collaborate with stakeholders to build and deliver large initiatives with a large team; Create highly resilient, scalable distributed back-end systems.
  • Drive API architecture, review, and implementation using RESTful API design patterns.
  • Agile Partner: Collaborate with cross functional teams and deliver meaningful iterations; leverage Agile methodologies and CI/CD to rapidly release new features.
  • Operational Owner: Build and productionize highly scalable and tolerant systems using AWS; leverage internal tooling to accelerate product development cycles.
  • Often act as a technical lead for features or epics and complete features or epics where the approach is loosely defined and requires technical & design discovery prior to implementation
  • Ensure code is flexible, reusable, extensible performant, and high quality through feedback on code reviews
  • Decompose outcomes into solutions composed of multiple software components interacting with each other
  • Understand and consider technical dependencies
  • Provide feedback via decision-making frameworks for proposed changes from across the org
  • Work within the scope of a team and participate in driving cross-team collaboration

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, engineering, technology related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ hands-on experience preferred with full-stack web development
  • Must be advanced in object-oriented design and development and unit-testing, and web pages using ASP.NET and/or ASP.NET MVC with C#
  • Experienced in relational databases
  • Experience developing highly scalable applications
  • Passion for writing great, simple, clean, efficient code
  • Well versed in Software architecture patterns and techniques
  • Experience with unit testing and integration test automation
  • Must be able to work effectively in an agile and team environment
  • Must be adaptable to change and have a willingness to learn
  • Must have a strong sense of curiosity
  • Must be effective and creative in problem solving
  • Embody the core concept of extreme ownership
  • Have grit to learn and understand the codebase to make it better for the entire team
  • Able to work off-hours and weekends as the need arises

What success looks like:In this role, you will work alongside software engineers, product managers, and UX designers to own and drive efficiencies, code quality, and application health for the time off product suite. As a senior member of the team, you will be actively developing customer experiences and implementing performance improvements, helping to lead architecture decisions, and mentor other members of the team.In the first 6 months you will:

  • Analyze and spearhead improvements to the systems and software that are important to the team.
  • Advocate for best practices and a healthy balance of tech debt versus delivery
  • Make significant contributions in driving design, development, and delivery of new tools, as well as contributions to existing features.
  • Improve our software’s quality in ways that can be measured and quantified
  • Design software with multiple components interacting across systems

The pay range for this position is $98,200 – $182,400/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for a restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.
