About You

As the Senior Educational Practice Specialist, you will work collaboratively with Centre for Education Innovation and Quality team colleagues on strategic learning and teaching initiatives such as curriculum architecture that drive the University’s Education Plan. You will draw on your pedagogical and learning expertise to develop pedagogical approaches and curriculum standards and models to guide practice and enhancement.

You will engage with stakeholders to initiate alignment to enterprise-wide education strategy, policy and frameworks to enable progressive learning and technology-enhanced approaches in learning and teaching. You will also collaborate on the development of resources to support uptake and capability development of RMIT educators across the University.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in educational strategy, pedagogy, policy and curriculum design
  • Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork skills and demonstrated ability to forge collaborative and productive relationships with others across organisational boundaries
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in learning and teaching practice, digital pedagogies and quality standards, and their application.
  • Demonstrated excellence in engaging with trends and innovative practice, facilitating ideation, concept development and execution strategies for complex innovation and transformation.

About the Portfolio

The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.

The Education Portfolio plays a key role in empowering students to access education, participate actively in the life of the University and achieve successful and fulfilling lives beyond graduation. The provision of a stimulating and satisfying experience for students is a priority for the University.
