If staffing challenges arise, weather conditions warrant, or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays).Schedules are subject to change and based on the needs of the organization.What You’ll DoThis position is dedicated to DEN’s Construction Safety Division and will be responsible for managing safety contract compliance across multiple projects, acting as an Owner Representative. The Construction Safety Team is responsible for generating and maintaining a high level of commitment for safe operations among all personnel assigned to the project sites.Responsibilities and duties of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:Review and accept Site Specific Safety Plans and Task Specific Safety Plans, review and approve Contractor Safety Representative qualifications, and evaluate variance requests.Compile, follow-up, and maintain safety performance statistics for the project. Communicate information to the project’s management to ensure they are informed of the safety program.Keep apprised of new regulations and developments to keep the safety policies and procedures current and effective. Update and disseminate ROCIP Safety Manual.Observe Contractors’ and Subcontractors’ activities to evaluate safety performance and make appropriate recommendations and ensure compliance with approved plans.Review and communicate methods and procedures to foster the highest level of accident prevention performance possible.Participate in Contractor Safety Representatives incident investigations as deemed necessary. Review all accident investigation and near miss reports to ensure thorough investigations were conducted to control future accidents and communicate lessons learned.Periodically attend Contractor safety toolbox meetings, orientations, and review JHA’s or SOP’s to ensure content and quality are being achieved.Review and evaluate Contractors’ safety program to ensure it meets the standards of the Contract and all approved pre-planning safety documents.Conduct periodic Contractor Safety Meetings to discuss current work activities, review ROCIP Safety Manual revisions and/or share lessons learned.Periodically conduct audits to ensure contractor compliance with and enforcement of the terms of the ROCIP Safety Manual.Respond to Contractor inquiries regarding ROCIP language interpretation and requests for safety variance requests.For more information on the Rolling Owner Controlled Insurance Program (ROCIP) at DEN, click .What You’ll BringWe value diversity of ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, sexual identity, gender, religion, language, ability, and experience and exemplify this through the makeup of our team at all levels. DEN will handle the costs, training, and maintenance of the certification.Required Minimum QualificationsWe realize your time is valuable so please do not apply if you do not have at least the following required minimum qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial or Environmental Health and Safety, a physical science, or a related field.Experience: Three (3) years of professional level experience developing and implementing occupational safety and health policies and procedures, applying technological and scientific methods to reducing worker Potential exposure to hazardous conditions and environments, and performing accident investigations.Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.Licensures/Certification(s): Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.FBI Background CheckFBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN).
