About the Opportunity
The Senior Conciliation Officer will be part of an effective team which is accountable to the Manager, Advice and Conciliation. Under broad direction, the Senior Conciliation officer is responsible for assessing and conciliating fair trading disputes in compulsory conciliation conferences, primarily in person with the disputing parties.
The role will also assess applications to alter or replace an odometer and provide advice to consumers, traders and other stakeholders in relation to the operation of tenancy and fair trading legislation.
The Senior Conciliation Officer is responsible for contributing to the development and execution of strategies to reduce consumer detriment and improve compliance with legislation administered by Consumer and Business Services.

Consumer and Business Services (CBS) employs around 200 staff and our primary purpose is to facilitate business, protect consumers and record life events. CBS currently comprises eight branches, with two points of executive oversight.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
