Job description: Overview:In anticipation of a contract award, Tantus Technologies, Inc. – recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace – is seekingSenior Application Engineer to lead technical staff in the architectural design and engineering of software and web application systems used by the federal government.In this role, you will provide hands-on expertise in web application software and platform engineering, including the design and development of new applications, as well as the maintenance and enhancement of existing systems. You will also focus on optimizing integrated systems and their underlying infrastructure platforms and database mechanisms.The engineering technologies utilized will include Drupal, Silverline Web Application Firewall, SharePoint Online, and Azure cloud-based solutions. You will be responsible for contributing to the architectural design, implementation, and maintenance of customer application infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments, in collaboration with other IT teams and system owners. Maintenance tasks will include fine-tuning, release deployments, password management, and patching in accordance with the customer-approved plan.Additionally, you will lead engineering services related to the modernization or migration of applications, as well as managing tasks such as creating resource groups, provisioning VMs, handling associated resources, and managing firewall rules through Network Security Groups.Location: Hybrid role in Bethesda, MD.Clearance: This position supports a federal contract and requires the ability to pass a background check.What You’ll Do:Lead application software engineering services within an agile DevOps environment Develop, advise, review, and perfect technical work products and technical deliverables necessary to analyze, implement, and streamline where required the Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC) process as well as other System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process including, but not limited to:Provide senior-level, hands-on web application and software engineering support in application design and development, enhance and maintain existing applications and their underlying technologies, assist in the engineering design and development of new applications to accomplish the goal of replacing manual ways of tracking with more automated methods and incorporating suitable workflows for customer business processes, perform business process and system requirements analysis, system design, testing, implementation, deployment, training, and maintenance of the applications, and adhere to the existing software development standards.Engineer existing and new applications that must integrate with a range of internal and external systems constructed using a heterogeneous combination of technologies. A majority of the applications are web-based and cloud-based.Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and developers in the design, implementation, and maintenance activities for customer’s application environment in the development, staging, and production environments in collaboration with other IT teams. Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Master’s degree preferred. A Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of additional related experience is acceptable in lieu of a Master’s degree.
- Min 10 years’ experience architecting, administering, patching, and configuring SharePoint on-premises 2010/2013/2016/2019.
- Min 5 years’ experience supporting Drupal in Azure, creating resource groups, provisioning VMs, and associated resources, managing firewall rules via Network Security Groups.
- Min 5 years’ experience supporting FISMA security assessment and authorization activities.
Abilities:
- Understanding of Federal Government policies and procedures and demonstrated ability to meet fast turnaround deadlines.
Nice to Haves:.NET, ASP.NET , C# , Azure Developer Associate,, Microsoft DevOps certification highly desired. Salary Range:
- Salary range is $150,000-165,000/year. The salary range for this position reflects a variety of factors that influence compensation decisions, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
Expected salary: $150000 – 165000 per year
