Job description: About the role
The Mater Hospital Administration team has an opportunity available for an experienced Senior Administration Officer to join their team working in our Cardiovascular Investigation Unit. We have two positions available: One full time position and one 16 hour permanent part time.
Salary range: $35.45 – $39.62 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900
What you’ll be doing
Your role will involve but not be limited to:
- Providing Exceptional Customer Service to patients and clients
- Booking and managing outpatient appointments in Karisma
- Register and update patient details in iPM
- Liaise on a regular basis with the scientists with regards to bookings/workflow
- Manage inpatient requests
- Organise the requests for the following days patients (including consent forms and holter/BP diaries)
- Volunteer transport bookings
- Totalcare billing
- Manage phone calls from patients and clinical staff taking a variety of enquiries.
- Stock ordering
- Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policy and procedures.
- Continually demonstrate highly developed written communication skills including ability to draft routine correspondence on behalf of management
- Provide administrative assistance to other senior staff and others as requested
- Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined
About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous Totalcare/billing experience (highly desirable)
- Must be able to work autonomously as well a team
- High level of customer service, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment
- Highly developed time management and organisational skills
- Strong computer skills including competence in Administration systems (and the ability to quickly learn new systems)
- Ability to use programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel
