This position will work within the Brandywine Virtual Academy Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit in Downingtown, PA with the opportunity to work from home up to two days per week.Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required
- Experience teaching students in an online environment preferred.
- Physics certification required; PDE Earth and Space Science 7-12 teaching certification preferred; Special Education Certification preferred
- Technology experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Current within one year FBI, PA State and Child Abuse Clearances.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Instruct individuals and groups in subject area.
- Provide specially designed instruction for eligible special education students.
- Plan curriculum and lessons.
- Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior.
- Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
- Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom.
- Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress.
- When appropriate, develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
- Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required.
2023-2024 school year salary:
- $54,981 to $86,531 – Instructional I Certification
- $57,379 to $89,997 – Instructional II Certification
- $61,041 to $98,278 – Master’s Degree
- $63,691 to $102,147 – Master’s + 15
- $65,079 to $103,999 – Masters + 30

- Position located in person at the CCIU Education Services Center- 455 Boot Rd, Downingtown, PA with the opportunity to work from home up to two days per week
