BEACON is a Pharma R&D SAP platform handled by the R&D IT Financial Systems Team on behalf of the R&D operating companies to support and optimize the decision-making process for R&D projects. Beacon is used in 80 countries by approximately 18,000 users and finance & tax shared services. Key capabilities of Beacon are: Accounting processes, Financial Postings from different Corporate and R&D systems, Intercompany Processes, Fixed assets/AUC including Asset Inventory Tracking, Purchase Order Commitments, Project Accounting, Time reporting, Capacity Management (1-Supply), Financial (Statutory and Tax) and Management Reporting, Financial Planning, IP Billing – Tax credits, Automated Book-close. This SAP platform is a SOX regulated system.
The R&D IT Team supports the different Finance Organizations for Janssen R&D globally, as well as the Finance Organizations within Janssen Business Services (Belgium) and Janssen Global Services (Manilla).
This position requires solid understanding of financial processes and SAP technical skills; expertise with design, and implementation of financial systems, or enterprise software; and documentation experience. Successful candidates should have a high energy level, experience working with many different support functions, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both business and technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead analysis, research, design and development of new functionalities and integration with key applications and services under SAP ecosystems.
- Perform Business Problem Definition: understanding and translating business problems faced by the finance function into a value case & comprehensive set of solutions spanning process, technology, data, governance & user experience supported by defined, baseline value realization key performance indicators.
- Design new solution and enhancements based on business requirements.
- Provide process and design guidance to the functional and development team.
- Guild the technical team to develop, configure and implement the solution as per the product development standards to meet business requirements.
- Monitor the work of the technical team and ensure standards are adhered to in accordance with SDLC/Agile requirements.
- Ensure technical integrity of projects, making sure that common technical elements are leveraged, and that work is not duplicated.
- Work with supporting functional team on the design of test plans, test cases and on automation of existing and new processes.
- Participate in the product roadmap and product strategy definition.
- Help and review with the creation of training, product, and solution documentation.
- Coordinate with other J&J technical teams changes and enhancements to ensure compatibility with other systems that are integrated with R&D SAP platform.
- Hold self and others accountable to the committed deadlines and ensure successful results.
- Engage with Corporate Finance, IT and other strategic partners to identify and validate requirements and translate to solution design.
- Lead team in driving and delivering customer solutions.
- Participating in resolving technology integration problems.
- Partnering with product management teams to ensure roadmaps are oriented to deliver finance business & technology strategy, value creation objectives, and measurable key performance indicators.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through quality work and effective communication throughout projects.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- 8 years work experience in SAP Financial global implementations, systems integration, or architect role.
- Have a good understanding of SAP standard methodologies and SDLC/Agile.
- Must have excellent expertise in understanding of SAP modules such as Finance, MM, PS, HR with good knowledge about ABAP development.
- Must have good understanding of financial processes, underlined accounting and SOX requirements to support global financial requirements.
- Must be an expert in analyzing, creating system specifications, and developing tests and implementing business solutions using SAP technologies.
- Must have solid grasp and understanding of development using ABAP objects and HANA SQL.
- Hands-on experience working with interfaces in addition to Web Services, such as APIs communicating with non-SAP applications and their reconciliation.
- Must have good experience with SAP security concepts and understanding of authorization checks in ABAP objects.
- Experience managing projects and working with multi-functional teams across different organizations.
Preferred:
- Ability to assess and manage technical risks and issues.
- Must have good interpersonal skill and demonstrable ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
Other:
- Expertise in doing Solution demos and presentations to business partners/architects.
- Proficient in English and able to report both verbally and in writing to executive level.
- Minimum business travel required -10-20%.

Anticipated Salary Range: $150,000- $165,000
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
Expected salary: $150000 – 165000 per year
