Additionally, it is the responsibility of the SAP ABAP Developer to continuously improve the processes and code within the SAP system to better support the business. Responsibilities could change as the needs of the department evolve.What does an SAP ABAP Developer do?Performs SAP system analysis, design, development and production support activities within SAP’s S/4 HANA system; demonstrates a high-level understanding of standard SAP data structures & processesSupports all phases of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation along with the generation of required documentation throughout each phase of the projectCollaborates with business users and other SAP technical staff to develop, implement and execute upon the requirements of the business through complex ABAP programming, testing, documentation and debugging functions related to the implementation of SAP S/4 modulesRegularly communicates with business users and functional team to understand the requirements from provided functional designs or business requirements/use cases and transforms these requirements into the technical designsBuilds professional relationships with management, business representatives, and team members to ensure delivery of proposed solutions, support for development of business possibilities and professional developmentParticipates in troubleshooting incidents reported to IT and assists in identifying root cause of any issuesActively participates in industry communities to continuously expand upon knowledge and improve the standards and awareness of the company’s SAP practicesProvides support during storm restoration effortsWhat does it take to be an SAP ABAP Developer?Required:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management Information systems, information systems development, or STEM field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, candidates with an associate’s degree (in aforementioned fields) with 3 years of related professional experience or a high school diploma with 5 years of related professional experience will be considered.Must demonstrate the willingness to work in a collaborative team environment to deliver a quality product and interact effectively with individuals at all levelsAbility to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organizational technology, processes, and prioritiesDemonstrated strong problem solving, analytical skills and strategic thinking abilityExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsValid driver’s licensePreferred:Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or STEM fieldExperience developing in ABAP within the S/4 Hana platformHands-on experience implementing within large, transformational projectsExperience in large implementations of SAP S4Basic knowledge of ERP systems in the utility industryApplications will be accepted until May 8, 2025.This position has a career path which allows for advancement opportunities within a job series.
