About the role:

The Research Fellow will support studies related to psychosis and psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia, in collaboration with the Psychosis Research Group that is led by Professor Alison Yung. The Research Fellow will conduct literature reviews, meta-analyses, data analysis, write up of research studies, request data from national health databases, and other activities to support psychosis research.

This position is suited to a researcher keen to explore and build on new areas and foster research and researcher development to have real-world impact and contribute to a dynamic and enthusiastic research team.

As a Research Fellow, you will:

  • Support, and may lead, applications for research and creative activities.
  • Build a national reputation, based on a growing, focused body of work recognised for quality, excellence and impact.
  • Initiate, design, conduct and may lead in development of industry partnerships and intra- and inter-disciplinary research collaboration.
  • Initiate, design, conduct and may lead innovation and translation into policies, frameworks, strategy, generation of products, services, new ways of operating and priority setting.
  • Supervise honours and/or HDR students with timely completions and productive, high-quality outcomes.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Completed PhD with experience in the discipline of mental health care and relevant qualifications.
  • Previous experience in a research environment, supported by post-graduate research studies.
  • Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications
  • Experience in applying for external research funding.
  • Ability to contribute to communities through research.
  • Strong understanding of database management, including security, privacy and confidentiality, ethics, data linkage, cleaning, and analyses using complex techniques with large datasets.
