About the role:
Positions exists in the above unit for highly motivated part time and full time Registered Nurses with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.
The service currently manages 28 Cardiothoracic Surgical / Respiratory Medical and Transplant patients and includes 6 high dependency beds. The position is supported by a team environment as well as the opportunity to be autonomous. The ward offers a range of ongoing professional development opportunities including access to internal and external educational initiatives. Unit support is available through Nursing Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator.

About you:
We are seeking skilled and energetic Registered Nurses who possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people with cardiothoracic experience or have one year of acute nursing with a passion to learn and upskill in Cardiothoracic Surgical /Medical and Transplantation nursing.
Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
3. Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team with effective communication and interpersonal skills
4. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
5. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and electronic patient record systems
6. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a Registered Nurse
7. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads with in a complex environment
8. Minimum 12 months acute hospital nursing experience (Cardiothoracic experience desirable)
