About the role
In your role as a Registered Midwife, your primary responsibility is to deliver the highest quality maternity and obstetric care to women and newborns, aligning with the core values of John Flynn Private Hospital and Ramsay Health Care.
This is a casual position with the option of night duty, flexibility to work these shifts is ideal.
Your Skills and Experience
You will showcase your adept communication skills and your capacity to establish and nurture effective interpersonal connections.
Your role will involve engaging in constructive and collaborative communication with family members, and a diverse group of healthcare.
Essential;
- Relevant midwifery registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Minimum of one year working as a Registered Midwife in a clinical setting
- Understanding of scope of practice in line with relevant registration
- Knowledge of legislative requirements in relation to nursing practice
- availability to work night duty shifts across a 7-day roster is essential
Any relevant post graduate qualifications are highly desirable.
Remuneration
A base hourly rate ranging from $40.47 – $52.19 + superannuation and applicable penalty rates, based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD RN/RM Level 1 Gr 2-8)

The Hospital
John Flynn Private Hospital is a 354 bed, acute care hospital located at Tugun, which is on the southern end of the Gold Coast, within 5 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport. The hospital provides services to the population of the Gold Coast and the Tweed Coast extending into the NSW Northern Rivers area.
The Hospital is operated by Ramsay Health Care, a global operator of private hospitals and primary care clinics with over 70 Australian sites employing over 30,000 people.
Requirements
- Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
- According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases, which may include Covid-19.
