Your part in St Stephen’s Hospital team
Our Sessional Suites host a variety of Medical Practitioners, with our administrative team providing a full scale of services ranging from reception to full medical admin support. With 4 Rooms and currently 16 Medical Practitioners, serviced hours are 7.30am – 6pm Monday to Saturday.
As the front face of our Sessional Suites, you will play a vital role in supporting our Visiting Medical Practitioners, providing a tailored service with the scheduling of their day to day activities and administration, whilst providing an exceptional level of customer service to patients and their loved ones.
With no two days the same, you’ll:
- Liaise with patients on behalf of the Medical Practitioners, answering incoming calls and aiding as required
- Schedule appointments for patients, including follow ups for future appointments
- Ensure that all incoming referrals are processed based on Practitioners individual preferences and requirements
- Liaise with patients and medical practices to ensure valid referrals are on file for patient appointments.
- Book procedure bookings as requested by the Medical Practitioners
- Invoice accounts and process patient payments and Medicare Rebates
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence efficiently
- Complete end of day activities including banking reconciliation and consultation room preparation.
- Chaperone patients in appointments and minor procedures
- Clean and prepare rooms for the following days specialists
What makes a difference for us?
To be successful, you will need:
- Previous hospital or medical reception experience – essential
- Availability to work Saturdays and late afternoon/early evening as required – essential
- Must be able to work independently – essential
- Familiarity with Gentu or Genie program would be an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate articulately both verbally and in written communication
- Adaptability to changing priorities, with the ability to provide an exceptional, tailor-made service to your Visiting Medical Practitioners
- Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to independently prioritise your workload
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your day to day work
- An ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, providing support as required
- Ability to work effectively in a busy environment
- Sound computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
