Incumbent will provide golf instruction/lessons, schedule tournament/group play, and may be responsible for conducting junior golf clinics.Offers friendly and expedient service to the Pro Shop guests, rings up merchandise sales, golf-related fees/charges at the register, and checks in golfers prior to play. Responsible for proper cash handling and recording of customer transactions/sales with accuracy and within established guidelines. Answer customer queries to meet needs while following established policies and procedures.Responds to inquiries and makes tee times for guests both in-person and over the phone. Focus attention on guests’ needs while remaining calm, professional, and courteous, even when under pressure.Responsible for merchandise inventory controls, receiving, pricing, and merchandising of the Pro Shop. Maintains and organizes storage and display areas. Maintain sales floor inventory levels by constantly restocking items such as shirts, socks, gloves, hats, balls, etc.Responsible for marshaling, starting, and assisting golfers checking in for their round of golf. Assists the Golf Course Manager, PGA Instructors, and support staff as needed.Provides exceptional customer service by connecting with people in a meaningful way. Upholds high service standards through respect, courtesy, professionalism, and teamwork. Takes the initiative to solve problems quickly but recognizes when to seek assistance from supervisor to solve issues and or problems. Collaborates in a professional, supportive, and proactive manner.Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk and crouch. EVALUATIONS:QualificationsMinimum one year experience in a golf related activity. Must obtain a PGA Associate Level 1 status within one year of hire. General knowledge of golf rules, regulations, and etiquette required. Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Point of Sale systems. Experience in and understanding of tournament programs is highly desirable. Must have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills. An outgoing personality, professional appearance, and passion and enthusiasm for the business is required. Skill to demonstrate activities and use of related facility equipment. Skill to learn applicable MCCS policies and procedures.
