They are seeking a thorough and experienced Quality Control Inspector with specialized welding expertise to ensure the integrity and compliance of their welding operations.Job Summary:The Quality Control Inspector (Welding Specialist) will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests, specifically focused on welding processes and products, to ensure they meet specified quality requirements. This individual will meticulously document inspection results, identify non-conformances related to welding, and collaborate with welding teams to implement corrective actions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of welding quality control principles, relevant industry standards, and hold specific certifications including Saudi Aramco and CBT, with a proven welding specialization.Responsibilities:
- Welding Inspection & Testing:
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections of welded joints and structures.
- Perform welding procedure qualification tests (WPQT) and welder qualification tests (WQT).
- Verify compliance with welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API).
- Identify and document welding-related non-conformances and deviations.
- Witness and verify welding procedures and testing performed by welders and contractors.
- Documentation & Reporting (Welding Focus):
- Maintain accurate and detailed welding inspection records and reports.
- Prepare welding non-conformance reports (NCRs) and track corrective actions.
- Document welding inspection procedures and checklists.
- Ensure all welding documentation is completed in accordance with company and client requirements.
- Quality System Compliance (Welding):
- Ensure adherence to quality management system procedures and policies related to welding.
- Participate in internal and external audits related to welding processes.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of welding quality control procedures.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant welding industry standards (e.g., ISO 3834).
- Collaboration & Communication (Welding):
- Collaborate with welding engineers, welders, and fabrication teams to resolve welding quality issues.
- Communicate welding inspection results and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and guidance to welding personnel.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors regarding welding quality.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related technical field.
- 5-7 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector, with a strong focus on welding.
- Saudi Aramco Certification is mandatory.
- CBT (Computer Based Training) Certification is mandatory.
- Specialized Welding Certification is mandatory (e.g., Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), CSWIP 3.1).
- Extensive knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and materials.
- Proficiency in using welding inspection and testing equipment, including NDT methods.
- Understanding of relevant welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, specifically related to welding.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills, with a focus on welding inspection
Expected salary: 4000 – 8000 per month
