About the Role

The Western Sydney University Young Women’s Leadership Academy will support young women to succeed and thrive, both at high school and beyond. The program is being established to empower the young women to develop their sense of agency and leadership capacity whilst contributing to their successful educational, career and life outcomes.

You will oversee the planning, development, delivery, implementation and evaluation of the Leadership Academy, which aims to build high school students’ capacity to lead active and productive lives, in which they are empowered to make life and career choices which suit their aspirations.

About You

You will prepare and monitor project plans, organise and run program-related events, presentations and activities, (including on-campus, in-school and online delivery modes), liaise with internal and external stakeholders, gather and compile program and participant registrations and evaluative data, event and recruitment registrations, research best practice and innovative approaches, and research and write reports and briefings.

Activities will take place both at Western Sydney University Campuses and out in the community and high school setting.

This environment will suit a hands-on education focused professional who is a self-started, highly motivated and can successfully take on multiple challenges and be adaptable to change. The successful applicant will be required to operate across different stakeholders and stakeholder groups collaboratively in the interest of achieving demanding deadlines and common program goals.

The position works closely with colleagues across the University and externally amongst the education and local community to ensure positive impact on young people. Applications are welcome from people who have had relevant experience engaging with schools, young people and leadership.

It is a mandatory requirement for any incumbent of this position to have a current NSW Employee Working with Children Clearance in accordance with the NSW Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.

This is a fixed term, full time appointment until 31 March 2026 with possibility of extension.

Remuneration Package: Higher Education Worker Level 6 – $107,358 to $115,073 pa. (comprising salary $90,719 to $97,238 p.a., plus 17% superannuation, plus leave loading).
