Duties
Serves as the Branch Head in the Secretariat of Marine and Family (MF) Program Division. Oversees the day-to-day operations for the Division that includes the receipt, dissemination, retrieval, response, entry, and follow-up of Enterprise Management Task Software Solution (EMTS2) taskers and all other formal and informal tasks. Cultivates an atmosphere of support and assistance in accordance with Division leadership for the support of: Program Assessment, Future Operations, Behavior Programs, Family Care, Personal and Professional Readiness, Semper Fit, Military Personnel Services and the Prevention and Integration Branch. Works with division personnel to gather information, statistics, to provide credible responses to taskers and defend the interests relating to major program initiatives.
Maintains the MF Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), ensuring Branch-wide dissemination and compliance. Oversees compliance and execution of MF administrative policies and strategies. Develops management and administrative techniques to support MF. This includes developing, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating operational training to create a higher level of understanding and performance in document drafting and routing. Maintains the timelines of all tasks.
Facilitates liaison and maintains contacts with officials in appropriate Marine Corps commands, as well as other Services, Department of Defense (DoD), and vendors for problem identification and resolution. Develops correspondence, point papers, briefs, and other items as required. Briefs leadership on operational status and makes recommendations for improvement. Maintains awareness of projects, working groups, and campaigns and provides operational expertise to increase efficiency and quality of the process.
Supports strategic communication plans, coordinates multi-service meetings and trainings, coordinates and facilitates Requests for Information (RFI), responsible for technical writer review of all staffing packets to ensure correct grammar, and branch-wide administrative, operations, logistics, and quality assurance activities. Coordinates division travel to ensure that the needs of the branch are fulfilled with no duplication.
Will identify discrepancies, needs, opportunities, and efficiencies and initiate new practices and plans to operate more effectively. Compares current and historical data to determine trends and anticipate future requirements across MF.
Supervision
Supervises a team of full-performance level staff and manages team tasks, resources, and priorities. Supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work based on priorities, difficulty, and capabilities of employees; recommending and evaluating work performance, and completing performance reviews; interviewing candidates for work; hearing and resolving employee complaints; recommending and taking disciplinary measures; identifying training needs and providing training; coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, and signing timecards; keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of: Equal Employment Opportunity(EEO) and the prevention of sexual harassment, a hostile work environment and substance abuse in the workplace, and reporting and taking appropriate action to remedy situations related to the above.
Safety
Develops and ensures implementation of an activity safety program for supervised employees. Conducts safety meetings at least quarterly and advises employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials, and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Human Resources Office. Ensures safety training is provided to employees. Complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with ¿Return to Work¿ program initiatives and following up on employee well-being.
Customer Service
Leads by example with an emphasis on courtesy and collaboration. Takes action to solve problems quickly and respectfully. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Performs other duties as assigned.
This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.

EVALUATIONS:
Qualifications
Bachelor¿s degree in Business, Management, or a related field AND six years¿ experience; OR Associate degree AND eight years¿ experience in project management that demonstrates knowledge of and strong background in administration, fact finding, using investigative techniques and presenting results; analyzing and evaluating efficiency and effectiveness of business practices to meet goals and objectives.
Experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the Marine Corps organizational structure and the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP); knowledge and understanding of a wide range of Marine Corps policies and requirements preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of Marine Corps policies, management principles, and processes. Skill to communicate effectively orally and in writing, develop reports, proposals, charts, and graphs and conduct presentations. Expert knowledge of naval and supplemental Marine Corps correspondence standards. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and supervise a team.
