You will promote Procurement excellence by leading in the development and implementation of strategic objectives for the greater Procurement organization including business process optimization, technology, roadmaps, compliance management and methodologies. The role will support improving and enhancing technology, processes, category analytics, procurement performance, budget savings-benefits tracking, sourcing-supplier compliance and reporting techniques across all $6.9B in third party spend. Your interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills will be fully exercised as you lead a variety of strategies that focus on value creation, cost savings, continuous improvement, and risk mitigation as well as optimizing sourcing strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Main purpose of the job is to support the Digital Tools and Technology space to improve Procurement, Source-to-Pay (S2P) process efficiencies/capabilities as well as develop and implement Procurement designs (cloud technologies i.e., Ariba/Fieldglass) and S2P strategies. Act as an advisor to Procurement for in-depth technical analysis of Procurement models/designs and develop new interfaces/enhancements for streamlining procurement processes. Serve as liaison between Procurement, IT and other SMEs for projects and lead the technical discussions related to Procurement models, designs, and issues. Lead the rolling out and enhancements (system enablement) of SAP/Ariba/Fieldglass solutions for various categories, supplier onboarding/qualification, supplier risk mitigation, SOX controls and digital automation projects.

Partner closely with Procurement, Integration Support Services, Operational Services leadership, other Operating Units (OUs), and external parties to identify, establish and deliver process improvements that drive greater efficiency, introduce digital automation, standardize, and streamline, align with strategic objectives, and address the day-to-day challenges faced by Procurement.
Lead, project manage and deliver on identified business cross-functional teams on process improvement, solution customization, process re-engineering, new functionality, and process design/deployment initiatives to successfully deliver efficient solutions, developing project and business plans, strategies, and provide direction. Anticipate potential issues and manage risk.
Applies mastery of in-depth knowledge of Procurement systems expertise for detailed analysis of source to pay interfaces and enhancements. Act as a project manager for Procurement process/systems enhancements to achieve automation with greater compliance and reducing risks and costs.
Exercises judgment and discretion to advise and recommend new functionalities based on functional releases for process enhancements. Develop plan and recommendations for regression testing, ERP integration impacts, and potential functional replacement. Work with Procurement users for setting up master data, testing plans and go-live strategy.
Establishes project objectives, manages timelines, risk analysis, milestones, deliverables etc. for enhancements related to SAP supply chain solutions. Develop project charter, conduct kick off meetings to share the project objectives and gain stake-holders support. Escalate critical issues to IT management/leadership and communicate with internal/external stakeholders.
Understand, assess, and anticipate the internal/external strategic landscape of Procurement and how technology can impact the success of Procurement category management. Develop and implement innovative solutions to resolve complex issues, while implementing advanced organizational readiness change management strategies.
Assess current and future Procurement tools and business processes for best work practice, and/or technological fit based on external market and industry practices. Integrate strategies with technology solutions such as Ariba, SAP and related platforms.
Integrate work across relevant areas, developing strategies that support the achievement of business objectives, manage information, and provide exceptional services and expertise to internal and external partners.
Develop and implement metrics to monitor area of responsibility, identification of gaps and implement action plans to remediate. Track and report project performance through completion. Supplier relationship management (as necessary).
Establish, develop, and oversee project teams, providing work direction in coordination with direct managers, leads and departmental management.

The essentials
- Seven (7) years of experience in a Procurement and/or Business Process Improvement environment
- Three (3) years of experience in project management
- Business Process Automation (process mapping)
- Experience in SAP Materials Management, Ariba, Source to Pay and Fieldglass
- Knowledge and experience using OneDrive, SharePoint, and other MS technology
- Experienced in communicating with internal and external key collaborators and preparing and delivering executive-level presentations, recommendations, and briefings
The preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Business, Procurement/Supply Chain, or other related technical field.
- SAP or Ariba certification
- Experience implementing and enhancing procurement tools, strategies, and continuous improvement opportunities
- Experience integrating strategies with technology solutions such as Ariba, SAP, and related platforms
- Experience creating project management plans that specify charter, scope, cost estimates, schedule, milestones and target dates, and risk management plans
- Experience tracking and reporting of project performance and closing out projects upon completion
- Experience consulting with clients, including independently identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results

You should know
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
