Job description:
- Reporting to the Superintendent, the Principal directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities of a K-5 elementary school.
- Develops and evaluates educational programs to ensure conformance to state and governing board standards.
- Confers with teachers, students, and parents concerning education and/or behavioral difficulty.
- Demonstrates a career history of visionary leadership and strong evidence of employing or supporting best educational practices in the classroom. This includes, but is not limited to, standards and 1:1 learning.
- Demonstrates strong education and curricular leadership including evidence of creating, supporting or improving authentic, interdisciplinary and integrated curricula based on an educational philosophy of challenging every student; through differentiating the curriculum and utilizing multiple intelligences.
- Demonstrates a commitment to student development and well-being, including supporting student-led learning processes, successful teacher mentoring, meaningful student community involvement, within an open, welcoming, and enriching campus environment.
- Reporting to the Superintendent, the Principal is responsible for the school’s administration and daily operation, including coordinating all campus educational and extracurricular activities and supervision and evaluation of certified teachers and classified staff.
- Opening Superstition Mountain Classical Academy for the the 2025-2026 school year.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS * Master’s degree in Education from an accredited college or university
- Principal Certificate issued by the Arizona Department of Education
- Minimum 6 years of teaching experience. School administrator experience preferred
- Knowledge of elementary school curriculum, special education, and Arizona State Education Laws
- Experience in staff selection, assignment, orientation, and performance evaluation in accordance with state law and district policy
- Competent decision maker with excellent leadership skills
- Proficient communicator with excellent interpersonal communication skills in dealing with all levels of district staff and with a diverse community
- Experience working with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and a Student Information System
- No convictions for felonies or crimes against children
