As the Principal Practice Educator, you will contribute to the professional education for the Master of Counselling student cohort through supervision of students in clinical, preclinical and practice settings.Key responsibilities will include practice education, placements, and administration. These will include, but are not limited to:Applying recent professional experience to facilitate uni-professional and inter-professional practice learning in a variety of settings.Contributing to the development of practice related courses, direct and advanced practice, teaching plans, materials for practice-based learning and assessment.Facilitating evaluation and research of practice learning.Organising and implementing processes for:Locating placementsAssessing student learning needsAllocating students to placementsEnsuring students achieve required hours / meet requirements in accordance with relevant accredited programs.Implementing appropriate administrative processes for the unit and optimising the use of corporate systems such as InPlace.Ensuring placement arrangements are in accordance with the professional accreditation body.Contributing to the training and preparation of preceptors, clinical teaching fellows and casual supervisors.Performing a range of administrative functions in the student-led clinics.Special ConsiderationsThis role may include the following travel, out of hours work, and leave considerations:The provision of services and/or attendance at events outside of normal business hours, as required.The position is based at St Lucia campus, however some work will occur off campus as dictated by placement locations.It is expected that planned leave will be taken outside of primary practice teaching periods that align with the academic calendar or practice placement periods.This is a part-time (40%), continuing position.At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $96,649 – $105,244, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $113,080 – $123,136 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.About YouIdeally, you will be able to demonstrate:A degree in a relevant discipline and evidence of continuous professional development.Ability to leverage recent industry experience and knowledge of the health and social care sector to deliver current evidence-based approaches, guidance, and supervision in the area of practical based education.Demonstrated ability to positively develop and manage strong working relationships with external and internal stakeholders across a wide client base.Demonstrated experience in exercising tact, judgment, and discretion when dealing with confidential and personal matters.Experience and sound skills in using software packages to support reporting, stakeholder management, and program functions.Previous supervisory skills of practice education students including but not limited to supervision, educational evaluation, instructing in a variety of learning environments (including simulation) and contributing towards assessment.Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate, communicate and report back to various stakeholders across the School, University, and external providers.An understanding of the demands and opportunities within a complex and multidisciplinary practice and/or inter-professional teaching environment and previous experience managing and prioritising these tasks effectively.Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to negotiate to achieve the best possible outcomes in an environment that provides a high level of customer service.The following criteria will be highly regarded but are not essential:Postgraduate qualification.Extensive experience in practice education.Relevant student supervisory experience in practice.Experience in facilitating inter-professional learning in practice.Exposure to student administration, instructing and learning activities or other similar educational environments.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
