The Opportunity
John Flynn Private Hospital has an opportunity for a Patient Care Assistant to join our 24-bed acute medical unit, which cares for a varied caseload including medical oncology, neck of femur fractures – both medical and post-operative management.
Under the guidance and direction of our supportive clinicians, you will complete tasks to assist in providing safe and effective care for our patients. This will include, but is not limited to:
- Clinical assistance with patient ADL’s and tasks as delegated
- Assisting with patient transport and manual handling
- Effective cleaning of equipment including the preparation of beds
- Re-stocking ensuring the efficient running of the unit
Your Key Skills and Experience
- Certificate III in Health Care or similar
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- High level of interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively according to directions
- High level of customer service and excellent time management skills
- Understanding of infection control principles
- Prior experience in a Medical Ward or a similar role desirable
Remuneration
A base hourly rate ranging from $25.73 – $31.05 + superannuation and applicable penalties, based on experience level and qualifications. (QLD AWU Level 1-2).

The Hospital
John Flynn Private Hospital is a 354 bed, acute care hospital located at Tugun, which is on the southern end of the Gold Coast, within 5 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport. The hospital provides services to the population of the Gold Coast and the Tweed Coast extending into the NSW Northern Rivers area.

Requirements
- Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
- According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
