Home Concrete Solutions specialises in revitalising lacklustre concrete surfaces, transforming them into aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces. The services encompass driveway resurfacing and concrete solutions, administered by a team of highly skilled Technicians. Situated at 56 Robert Street, Lalor, Victoria 3075, the company serves as a beacon of quality and innovation in the industry.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Apply paints, stains, varnishes, enamels, and other finishes onto various surfaces, including equipment, buildings, bridges, or structures, utilising brushes, spray guns or rollers.
  • Protect surfaces during painting by covering them with drop cloths or using masking tape and paper.
  • Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulking, putty, plaster, or other fillers using caulking guns or putty knives.
  • Customise paint, stain, or varnish colours by mixing them with oil, thinning agents, and drying additives to achieve desired shades and consistencies.
  • Prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, by applying primers or sealers before applying finish coats.
  • Estimate material quantities and costs based on surface measurements or work orders.
  • Achieve specified finishes by polishing final coats.
  • Remove fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps, and electric switch covers before painting.
  • Eliminate old finishes through stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.
  • Prepare surfaces by smoothing them using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, and/or sanding machines.
  • Treat surfaces with oil, turpentine, mildew remover, or other preparations and sand rough spots to ensure proper adhesion of finishes.
  • Employ baking ovens to bake finishes on painted and enamelled articles.
  • Create stencils and apply lettering and decorations to surfaces using brush and spray techniques.
  • Set up scaffolding, swing gates, or ladders to access elevated areas for work.
  • Select and procure tools and finishes based on factors such as durability, ease of handling, application methods, and client preferences.
  • Apply hot plastics or pitch onto surfaces using spraying or brushing methods.
  • Employ specialised finishing techniques like sponging, ragging, layering, or faux finishing.
  • Waterproof buildings using waterproofers and caulking materials.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform general recordkeeping tasks.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols.
  • Clean the work area after completing tasks and return equipment and tools to designated locations.

Qualifications/experience:

  • Ideally, candidates should have accumulated four to five years of professional experience in a comparable environment.
  • A minimum requirement includes holding a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English communication is essential.

Expected salary: $70000 per year
