Assists in the training of assigned personnel, assigns tasks and work schedules and reports on employee performance and results of assignments. Ensures that store workers are following standard operating procedures by performing periodic checks. Loads and unloads trucks, carts, or pallets and assists in moving stock. Follows established receiving, storing, and issuing methods and procedures. Receives and signs for merchandise, verifies markings and quantities against invoices or shipping statements. Checks for damaged or defective merchandise. Assists in the storage of stock by stacking items in groups by commodity and size. Moves, stocks and displays merchandise as directed. May use a variety of hand tools and manual equipment while performing duties. Assists in performing price changes. Tags and prices merchandise. Assist in inventoriesProvides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. EVALUATIONS:QualificationsSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must have experience or training in stock handling methods, including pricing, displaying, and rotating stock. Must be able to interpret SKU numbers, invoices and shipping statements. Must have or be able to obtain a forklift operator¿s permit. Must demonstrate leadership abilities.RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for performing routine and repetitive duties independently. Receives, locates, and stores, materials, commodities and equipment in accordance with established procedures and operating requirements.’PHYSICAL EFFORT: Stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. Bends, stoops, and works in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted.
