Mater Private Hospital Townsville are seeking 2 Hospital Orderlies to join our Support Services team, experience is desirable.
We are offering successful applicants either Permanent Part Time employment or a Casual contract. This position supports our daily operations, successful candidates need to be available for a 24/7 roster.
Salary range: $29.59 – 32.09 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900
What you’ll be doing
The Hospital Orderly is responsible for assisting with the transportation of patients throughout the hospital; acting as a courier between the units / departments and generally assisting nursing staff as required.
- All transport will be onsite across both Townsville Mater Hospitals
- Attending regular staff meetings and trainings
- Patient transfers and delivering excellent customer service and patient care
- Equipment auditing and cleaning
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- A high level of understanding of infection control procedures and processes
- Experience working as an Orderly within a hospital setting (desirable not essential)
- Effective communication and ability to understand instructions
- Effective organisational skills and time management
- Ability to work without supervision and within a team environment.
- Ability to demonstrates correct techniques of patient lifting, moving and transportation.
- Physically fit and enjoy a fast-paced working environment
