About us:

The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to the residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.

About the role:

The Nurse Practitioner is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team who practices autonomously and collaboratively at an advanced and expanded clinical level, including assessment and management of clients using nursing knowledge and skills including:

  • Use advanced skills and knowledge appropriate to the extended scope of practice in complex clinical settings.
  • Coordination of client focused nursing care including prescribing, referrals, a range of procedures, treatments, medications and interventions that are evidence based and informed by advanced specialist clinical knowledge, skills and expertise.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Masters in Nurse Practitioner or equivalent and endorsement to practice as Nurse Practitioner by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
  • Authorisation to perform the specific scope of clinical practice (SoCP) or role associated with their qualification within a Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service facility with approval to do so by the Chair of the CQHHS Nursing and Midwifery and Health Practitioner Credentialing and Defining Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) Committee via formal letter.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills that support competent nursing practice, and supervision of registered and enrolled nurses and assistants in nursing and working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a member of the clinical team with an ability to facilitate, promote and adapt to change.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $172,618 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary between $144,913 – $151,292 p.a.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
