Job description: We are seeking an experienced .NET Developer to support one or more Public Safety agencies. This role involves designing and developing new applications based on defined business rules, supporting and modernizing existing systems, and collaborating with infrastructure teams. The developer will also be responsible for producing technical documentation across all systems they interact with.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of enterprise applications using .NET and ASP.NET MVC.
- Modernize legacy systems built with ColdFusion, Visual Basic, and MS Access.
- Establish and enforce coding standards, UI/UX guidelines, and develop best practices.
- Oversee quality assurance efforts, including code reviews, performance tuning, and security checks.
- Identify technical issues and escalate them appropriately.
- Conduct data analysis and design logical database models.
- Create and review technical documentation, including system architecture and solution proposals.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Role: Software Architect
- Experience Level: Expert (84+ months) – Recognized as a subject matter expert, capable of guiding large development teams and setting technical direction.
Preferred Experience:
- .NET Development: 84+ months building scalable, multi-tiered applications using C# and .NET Framework/Core.
- Legacy Conversion: 84+ months converting legacy applications (MS Access, VB, WinForms) to modern .NET platforms.
- Web Services: 72+ months with RESTful and SOAP web services using ASMX, WCF, and Web API.
- SQL Development: 84+ months writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions (Oracle or SQL Server).
- ASP.NET MVC: 60+ months creating and maintaining MVC or Core MVC web applications.
- Public Safety Systems: 48+ months of experience in criminal justice, public safety, critical infrastructure, or emergency response systems.
