Job description: DescriptionDuties:Provide strategic direction for building design projects, aligning with the company’s vision and goals.Apply superior expertise, knowledge and judgement.Serve as an expert internally and externally.Provide technical and commercial oversight, quality assurance and risk management for projects.Regularly review/audit projects to confirm appropriate quality activities are implemented to prevent rework and claims.Perform independent expert reviews of high-risk projects, proposals and deliverables.Support pre-contract activities, including technical proposals, design briefs and fee estimation.Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute business strategies that enhance the organization’s market position and profitability.Set direction in light of internal strategies and market conditions.Develop major goals to support broad growth and objectives.Monitor financial performance of projects, ensuring profitability and delivery optimization in collaboration with project teams.Simultaneously manage multiple and ambiguous organizational challenges.Address and resolve project issues, maintaining a proactive and solution-oriented approach.Develop teams, processes and technology to improve on business results.Incorporate sustainable design principles, ensuring projects align with the companies commitment to net-zero and environmental stewardship.Drive innovation across business disciplines to deliver technical and operational excellence and marketplace differentiation.Create an environment that promotes innovation.Act as the primary liaison with clients, addressing project requirements and ensuring satisfaction.Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.Deliver exceptional levels of customer relations.Lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration across disciplines.Mentor staff at a business level and direct staff on projects.Recruit and help retain staff at all levels.Deliver effective management communication and directs active communication engagement by subordinates.Demonstrate exemplary leadership attributes that provide a role model for othersQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Building Environmental Services Engineering or a related discipline.Chartered Engineer status with a recognized professional body (CIBSE / ASHRAE / NFPA).Min 20 years experience in Project Directing and Multi-Disciplinary / MEP design for large-scale, complex projects.Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering successful projects.Please contact me at m.cotgrave@nsrassociates.com asap if you feel you have the level of experience required for this position.
