Job description: Join us on the Gold Coast now! Permanent part-time opportunities available for flexible, highly organised and enthusiastic medical receptionists to join our Accident & Emergency Administrative team.
About the Role
As a Medical Receptionist within our A&E Department, your duties will include (but not limited to):
- Working a 24/7 rotating roster, primarily evenings, afterhours & weekends (current shift time examples are 1300-2100, 1700-0100 and 2100-0500)
- Adapting and being flexible to assist other areas of the business as needed, including attending the Front Reception and Emergency Reception, or addressing Patient Services inquiries.
- Welcoming and guiding visitors, handling email inquiries and a busy switchboard
- Efficiently checking-in patients and managing ambulance arrivals
- Proficiently handling cash and EFTPOS transactions and providing informed financial consent information
- Processing patient billing and liaising with third parties such as Medicare, DVA and Workcover
- Verifying health fund coverage and generating self-funding quotes.
- Coordinating with a large and friendly clinical staff team to ensure a smooth patience experience
- Precise data entry using multiple computer systems to ensure patient information is updated
- Scanning patient documentation
- Providing various administrative support to relevant departments.
About You
Your outstanding ability to thrive in both a team and independent work setting, often requiring quick thinking to meet daily challenges in a dynamic environment, is a valuable asset for this role.
You will also bring:
- An ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster, primarily in the evenings and afterhours
- Desired Qualification: Ideally a Certificate in Medical Terminology
- Tech Savvy: Previous experience with hospital mainframe systems and strong computer literacy including proficient keyboard and MS Office.
- Industry Experience: Previous roles in Hospital, Medical Reception, or Health Fund environments are highly desired
- Adaptability: Adept at navigating multiple computer systems in a fast paced setting.
- Keen Eye for Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to work independently
- Time Management: Skilful at completing tasks within designated timeframes.
The ideal candidate will be exceptionally driven, adept at multitasking and will deliver outstanding customer service, all while maintaining a primary dedication to patient care even in a bustling environment.
Remuneration: On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $31.49 – $33.59 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
